Waite Park is a smaller city directly adjacent to St. Cloud, with a population of 6,715. Incorporated in 1893, Waite Park is named after Henry Chester Waite, St. Cloud’s first attorney. The city covers 8.94 square miles and is a part of Stearns County.
In the summer months the city hosts Family Fun Fest, a themed one-week event that’s been held for the past 50 years. Activities include a medallion hunt, geocache contest, car show, disc golf tournament, caboose tours and a grand parade. The Waite Park Babe Ruth Association is a sports group that “seeks to provide a safe, fun, developmental experience for youth and families of Central Minnesota through participation in Baseball and Softball activities.”
Waite Park’s government is comprised of a mayor and four councilmembers. Council meetings are held on the first and third Mondays of the month, at 6:30 p.m. Waite Park’s municipal court is Stearns County Courthouse, located at 725 Courthouse Square in St. Cloud.
